Rachel C Vreeman and Aaron E Carroll have spent some time busting several common medical believes that we have since the dawn of time. It is published by BMJ (British Medical Journal) a couple of weeks ago.
Among those listed are some very interesting facts indeed! Now you can go convince your parents with proven facts that they are wrong since day one. Come now, you know you want to, there is a little part of you who knows ‘for-sure’ that your parents are incorrect
- You do not lose more of your body heat through your head so bald people do not feel ‘colder’
- Suicides does not increase during the holidays
- Sugar does not make your children go ‘hyper’
- Eating at night does not make you fat (but the same rules apply any time of the day, if you eat more than you need, you’ll get fat)
- It is impossible to cure a hangover except to consume less alcohol
- There is no need to drink 8 glasses of water in a day
- You actually do use most part of your brain, not just 10%
- Hair and fingernails does not continue to grow after death. Eeks!
- Shaving your hair does not make it grow back faster or darker or even courser. So continue shaving ladies!
- The most surprising fact of all: Reading in dim light does NOT ruin your eyes and makes you wear spectacles. So don’t blame yourself anymore.
Interesting facts huh? For full details of each and every one of them, please read the following:
