.. especially if you create it from an existing image file. It
really is that fast. Here is how. I have used this a couple of times to create icons for my applications and webpage’s favicon.ico and yes, I have to repeat, this software is very easy to use.
Did I mention the software is free and legal too?
Previously, I have been using Axialis IconWorkshop and it didn’t work so well for me. It is quite complex and contains many options that most probably you won’t be using. After all, all we want is an icon, nothing more nothing less.
Below, you’ll see the 7 simple steps to create an icon from an existing image.
Step 1. Download this application from here. http://icofx.ro/
Step 2. Install it and launch the application.
Step 3. Search for your image from the left sidebar called the ‘Explorer’.
Step 4. Drag it to the middle of the screen. A popup will appear. Select just like the screen shot. It’s actually clicking on the 256*256 option. Then click OK.
Step 5. New window will appear asking you to crop your image. Crop accordingly and click OK.
Step 6. Click on the Windows button at the top bar. This will open up another window which you just click on OK. This will make sure your Icon files contain all sorts of sizes and will display clearly at any occasion.
Step 7. Voila. You are done. Just save your file and you’ll get a nice Icon sitting on your desktop. You can now use it to do anything you need to.
If you want to put your new Icon up as your Blogger’s Icon, Here is how.
There you go. See, I wasn’t kidding when I said you can do this in seconds. It took less than a minute to create that icon above.
Challenge! If you found any way to do this faster, please let me know. It would be good to share with everyone a much better way to create an Icon.
